Trail des Bulles is a trail-running weekend based at Château Moncontour in Vouvray, 10 km east of Tours in France’s Loire Valley. The program is split between Saturday evening 8 km races and Sunday morning races over 8 km, 15 km, and 21 km, with solo and duo options. The duo format includes an 8 km category for women’s or mixed pairs, and children get their own shorter event called the Trail des Bubulles. The event is heading toward its ninth edition, so it is still local in feel but established enough to fill its Sunday races well before race weekend.
The start and finish are at Château Moncontour, placing runners in a wine-growing commune tied to the Vouvray appellation and the UNESCO-listed Loire Valley landscape. The race draws solo trail runners, pairs who want to run together, families with children, and enough local demand that late entries are mostly left for the Saturday evening 8 km options. Team Trail Touraine also uses the event to support Zoé & Le Tourbillon de la Vie, an association helping Zoé, a young woman severely disabled after meningitis, gain more independence through daily home education support and adapted equipment.
