Trail des lumières - Villers-lès-Nancy

Trail des Lumières is a night trail race based at the Faculté du Sport in Villers-lès-Nancy, with runners heading out after dark on technical trails around the town. The adult program ranges from a 7 km run to longer 14 km, 20 km, and 27 km options, plus a 42 km Backyard format made of six 7 km loops. Headlamps are part of the basic kit, and the courses are marked with reflective tape and flagging tape so runners can follow the route in the dark. The event is set up for more than one type of runner: adults can choose a short night outing or a much longer looped challenge, while children have their own races of 300 m, 700 m, and 1500 m at Parc de Rémicourt. The 7 km race carries the Octobre Rose label for breast cancer awareness, and part of the entry fees from that race and the children's races goes to the Ligue contre le cancer and SOS Villages d'Enfants Jarville. On the practical side, some races have aid on course or at the finish, showers are available, the bag drop only accepts keys and phones, and the site usually includes a food truck and a local brewer.
