Trail du Suc des Vents is a trail running weekend held in mid-March in Saint-Alban-d'Ay, Ardèche, France. The event provides multiple off-road distances, ranging from children's races to adult trails of approximately 12, 23, 36, and 54 km. The 12 km course is available as a night race, and a combined format includes a 12 km out-and-back route. A recent running attracted a record 740 participants, with 121 runners on the challenging 12 km night course alone.
The courses traverse paths, trails, forest sections, ridges, and higher ground near Saint-Alban-d'Ay, incorporating ridge trails from Rochelipe towards the village. The main adult courses are named after winds: La Bise (12 km), La Traverse (23 km), La Burle (36 km), and La Tempête (54 km). The shorter route serves as an introduction, while the longer races feature more altitude, forest running, chateaux, and a demanding experience in tougher terrain. Conditions can influence the race; one edition offered clear skies for night runners, followed by cold, rain, and snow for the longer Saturday courses. The schedule also includes youth races and an Api Poly Handi race, with joëlettes from BRC and API Poly Handi participating.
