About
Transmontagne Trails du Suzon is a late-September trail-running event based in Messigny-et-Vantoux, in Côte-d'Or, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It sends runners into the Val Suzon regional nature reserve, with four options that range from an 11 km short trail to a long route of about 44 km. The middle distances sit around 22 km and 32 km, and the 32 km race counts for the UTMB Index 20K category.
The routes use forest paths and natural terrain around Val Suzon, with streams, cliffs, and open viewpoints along the way. The climbing rises with the distance: the 11 km has a little over 200 meters of gain, the 22 km is over 500 meters, the 32 km is around 850 to 900 meters, and the longest race is about 1,100 meters. Les Salamandres du Val Suzon organize the event, which is pitched as a festive forest race with some night-running flavor. Around 900 runners are expected across the distances, and every finisher gets a medal.
