Volvic Volcanic Experience 2026

The Volvic Volcanic Experience (VVX) is a three-day trail-running and hiking festival held in Volvic, within France’s Auvergne region and the Parc Naturel Regional des Volcans d'Auvergne. It centers on volcanic terrain, local stone, water, and the town’s heritage, offering races and walks for those seeking a demanding run or a relaxed exploration. The event typically occurs around Ascension weekend, featuring multiple trail distances from short routes to ultra options with significant elevation gain. The program combines running with exploration: named routes include the Pierre de Lave trail, the Impluvium de Volvic trail, and the Chaîne des Puys-Faille de Limagne ultra. The Rando Gastro incorporates food into the walking aspect of the weekend. The schedule accommodates children, trekkers, beginners, club runners, and ultra runners. Beyond the trails, VVX includes sports initiation at the Goulet site, a village party, evening meals, concerts, post-race food, and visits to workshops and factories illustrating the links between Volvic’s industries and landscape.
