The Lake Plastira Sprint Triathlon begins in the water at Pezoula beach, near Kalyvia village. This same area serves as the transition zone, start, and finish point. The event is a sprint-distance triathlon, scheduled for a Sunday in late June. It includes a 750 m swim, a 21 km bike course, and a 5 km run. Participants can compete individually or in relay teams. The swim must be completed within 35 minutes, with a combined 1 hour 55 minutes limit for the swim and bike segments.
The swim course at Pezoula beach follows buoys clockwise for the 750 m distance. A fourth buoy acts as a marker, with competitors able to pass it on either side. Both the Sprint and Standard triathlon races are part of the WTL Triathlon league. Athletes aged 16 and older are eligible to enter. Age-group awards are presented for men and women across categories from 16-19 up to 70+. Relay categories include men’s, mixed, women’s, and corporate teams, accommodating individual triathletes, friends sharing the legs, and workplace groups.
