Lakvölgyi lake situates this event within the Bükk Mountains, with the January stage of Bükki Vándor centered on the concept of “12 months in the Bükk.” It is a performance-hike format where routes are also runnable, creating a mood akin to a self-powered mountain outing rather than a formal road race.
From the lakeside at Tópart Street, the shorter run traverses Katonasárok, Őrkő-rét, Őr-kő, Zöld-rét, Bél-kő-nyak, Bél-kő, and the Bélkő educational trail, then circles past the Cistercian Abbey before returning toward the lake. The longer route extends further over Horotna Valley, Kopasz-rét, Istállós-kő, Tar-kő, Cserepes-kő, and Pes-kő-kapu, eventually merging with the Bél-kő finish section. Participants can anticipate walkers and runners on the hills, with certificates for finishers and a runner’s medal, rather than extensive ceremony.
