Über dieses Rennen
The first challenging section begins almost immediately: a 4 km ascent to Kaoburi Pass, the steepest segment of the course and the initial planned rest stop. This Okumusashi Green Line event is a 32 km mountain-pass training run in Saitama, commencing at Agano Station and concluding at Seibu-Chichibu Station. It is designed for intermediate and advanced runners, with the organizer suggesting a half marathon time of approximately 2:10 or a full marathon time of 4:30. The entry fee is 2,000 yen. Participants must carry their own drinks, food, a change of clothes, and funds for transportation, hot springs, and meals.
The course follows the Okumusashi Green Line, featuring difficult climbs, extended descents, and at least three aid stations: following the ascent to Kaoburi Pass, around the 11 km mark near Karibasaki Pass, and close to Kenmin no Mori before the highest elevation. Feedback indicates the mountain's shade and altitude offer a cooler environment than city running during summer. The final 10 km downhill stretch can still be demanding on the legs. The organizer assigns participants to groups based on running ability, and coaches may offer guidance during the run. Upon completion, runners can proceed directly to an onsen, then dine before departing. Bath entry and towel rental are additional costs.
