La Vengeance du Castor

La Vengeance du Castor is a muddy trail race held in the Puszcza Piaskowa forest near Police, close to Szczecin. The name translates to “The Beaver’s Revenge,” a fitting title given the terrain. The route features beaver-shaped obstacles, fallen trees, streams, wet ground, and numerous uneven sections, making it feel more like a survival challenge than a simple road race. The course navigates the forest’s secluded ponds, modest hills, natural obstacles, and muddy stretches that challenge balance and pace equally. It is designed for participants who appreciate nature, accept soiled footwear, and value the overall experience alongside their finish time. Post-race, participants convene at the finish line for hot cauldron soup and anecdotes about lost shoes in the mud. Those with remaining energy can venture into nearby Szczecin for a local pasztecik szczecinski or a frytburger.
