Torrelavega sits in Cantabria's Besaya valley, where rolling green hills and coastal proximity make it a cycling hub for northern Spain. The Cantabria Bike Race and La Oscar Freire both depart from or pass through the region, drawing riders into technical climbs inland and fast descents toward the coast. Runners have the San Silvestre de Torrelavega as the local anchor race, with the Night City Trail offering a longer 36km option through the surrounding hills and valleys.
