The Harvest Hustle 5K & Dog Walk is an annual fundraiser held at Norwayne Field to benefit Hope Restored Recovery Home in North Judson, Indiana. The event includes a 5K race for runners and walkers, with a dog walk starting shortly after. Race-day registration is available in the morning. Runners begin first, followed by walkers, and then participants with dogs. The event is designed for families and racers alike. All ages are welcome, and children five and under can participate for free. Awards will be presented to the first male, female, and child to finish. Every registered participant receives a t-shirt, and dogs participating in the dog walk receive a bandana. Following the race, the field will feature live music, face painting, bounce houses, and food vendors. Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than six feet and require current vaccinations; proof is only needed if an incident occurs.

The Worthington Waddle 5K is an annual run/walk in Worthington, with race-morning packet pickup and registration at the park’s Community Building before a 9:00 a.m. start. Tri Kappa hosts the event, which is part of the Mag 7 series. Entry can include a shirt, but participants can skip the shirt for a small discount. The race is a 5K, with prizes that give it more personality than a standard local road race. The top male and female runners and walkers win turkeys, and walkers must complete the full distance to qualify. After the finish, participants receive doughnuts, hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee, and fruit. There is also a prize for the “hammiest” costume. Proceeds benefit Worthington Tri Kappa’s charities.

Das Christmas in the Park ist ein Rennen, das im Dezember im Deming Park, 500 S Fruitridge Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana, stattfindet. Gesponsert wird das Ganze von Chick-fil-A of Terre Haute und es ist mit den Wabash Valley Road Runners verbunden. Angeboten werden ein 5K Lauf, ein 5K Walk und für die Jugend ein 1-mile Rennen, das Reindeer Romp heißt. Die Einnahmen gehen an Clothe a Child, wobei die Hälfte der Gelder direkt an die Organisation fließt. Das Reindeer Romp geht schon los, bevor die 5K-Wettbewerbe starten. Der 5K Lauf und Walk fangen dann später an. Beim 5K können sowohl Erwachsene als auch Jugendliche mitmachen, das Reindeer Romp ist aber nur für die Jugend gedacht. Es gibt Auszeichnungen für die Gesamtsieger, in 5-year Altersklassen und extra für die Walker. Wichtig: Wer beim Walk mitmacht, sollte nicht rennen, da die Walker separat gewertet werden.

Der jährliche Erin's Purpose 5k (US) Lauf ist Erin gewidmet, die mit nur 13 Jahren verstorben ist. Ihre Mutter, Terri Neighbors, hat Erin's Purpose gegründet, um sich für mentale Gesundheit und Suizidprävention zu engagieren. Die Organisation bietet christliche Beratung, Bibelstunden für Teenager und öffentliche Vorträge in Schulen an. Alle Teilnehmer bekommen eine Auszeichnung, und natürlich auch die Sieger in den Altersklassen und im Wettkampf-Gehen. Das soll eine unterstützende Gemeinschaft schaffen.
