Der 27-mile Heritage Rail Trail County Park führt von der Mason Dixon line nordwärts durch Glen Rock, Hanover Junction, Seven Valleys, den Howard Tunnel und York City. In Seven Valleys findest du Meilenmarkierungen, flaches Terrain, Ackerland und den Codorus creek gleich um die Ecke. Im Cousler Park drehen viele ihre Runden, und für asphaltierte Tage sind John Rudy Park und York Township Park super. Der York Road Runners Club hält die Läuferszene hier zusammen. Mit Rennen wie Medal Madness, Hope 5K Run/Walk, THE LAST ONE STANDING und dem 28th Annual Rail Trail 10-Miler haben wir hier ein paar echte Anker-Events.
Für lockere Z2-Fahrten, einen guten Mix aus gravel/dirt und eine direkte Verbindung zu Marylands 20-mile Torrey C. Brown Trail nehmen die Radler hier den York County Heritage Rail Trail. Mai und September sind die besten Monate, da Läufer und Radfahrer dann top Wetter für Intervalle, lange Fahrten und die nötige Race-Sharpness haben. Im Sommer gibt’s den 4th of July Shoe House Shuffle, und bei der Anmeldung ist sogar Kona Ice dabei. Wer ein garantiertes Shirt will, meldet sich bis zum 15. Juni vorab an. Am Renntag selbst geht die Anmeldung nur mit cash oder Venmo. Cousler Park, John Rudy Park, York Township Park und der rail trail bleiben auch im Sommer gut für warme base miles. Im Cousler Park finden 1M runs statt, und die Hanover Cyclers machen Christmas light rides, night rides und ihre regelmäßigen Club-Fahrten.
