Über dieses Rennen
The Baker Lake 50K is a trail ultra held on the eastern shore of Baker Lake, near Concrete, Washington, beneath Mt. Baker. It takes place on the first Saturday in October, covering 31.2 miles with a limit of 125 runners. Its understated setup suits the mountain environment, unlike a large urban race.
The course uses the Baker Lake Trail, heading south to north along the lake, offering intermittent views of Mt. Baker. The path winds through moss-covered old-growth trees and Douglas firs that regenerated after a 1843 eruption-related forest fire; remnants of that fire, like burned cedar snags, remain visible. Five aid stations offer water, soda, Gu Brew, Gu, snacks, and restrooms. The finish line maintains a relaxed atmosphere with hamburgers, veggie burgers, soup, and chips. Family and friends are welcome, with the Baker Lake Recreation Area providing a space for spectators during the event.
