Catholic Health Suffolk County Marathon

The Catholic Health Suffolk County Marathon is a Long Island race weekend centered in Babylon and West Islip. The 5K takes place on Saturday, with the marathon, half marathon, and 10K scheduled for Sunday. Sunday's longer races begin in the Village of Babylon and conclude at Gardiner County Park, whereas the 5K is contained entirely within Gardiner County Park. This annual Suffolk County event, sponsored by Catholic Health, offers participants a choice between a short park race and a longer point-to-point road run. The course features the Robert Moses Causeway, a significant causeway connecting to the South Shore barrier beaches. The race supports a local cause, with all proceeds benefiting veterans programs on Long Island. For those unable to attend in person, the Virtual Mile Mission allows participants to complete miles anywhere throughout October, using various activities like walking, running, biking, swimming, or treadmill use, and even with a dog.
