The Islip Fire Department Turkey Trot 5K is a Thanksgiving-season community run in Islip, New York. Check-in begins at 8 AM, with the race starting at 9 AM. This 5K takes place regardless of weather, and all proceeds benefit the Islip Fire Department. Registered runners receive a T-shirt, live results via text and email, complimentary finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for early registrants.
The course begins at Richardson Lane and South Bay Avenue. Runners head south on South Bay Avenue to the beach, then return north before turning onto Maple Avenue and Monell Avenue. The finish line is located at the firehouse. The event welcomes families, local runners, and walkers alongside competitive 5K participants. Awards are presented across age groups from 14-and-under to 90-plus. Medals are given to the top three men and women in each age group, as well as to the first 350 finishers.
