Kanawha State Forest Half Marathon/7K

The Kanawha State Forest Half Marathon/7K is a fall trail race held within Kanawha State Forest in Charleston, West Virginia. Both the half marathon and the 7K option begin at 9 AM. The start and finish lines are located near the forest Gift Shop, with all running confined to the park's roads and trails. A virtual race option is available for those who prefer to participate remotely. The course follows winding forest roads and wooded paths through dense trees and rolling terrain. Consequently, even the 7K requires more effort than a flat road race. The half marathon presents a longer, more challenging route, while the 7K offers a shorter distance within the same woodland environment. This event is part of the Cryptid Race Series, connecting the run to West Virginia’s local legends and history. Early registrants are guaranteed shirts, with any remaining shirts distributed on a first-come, first-served basis after the early registration deadline.
