Über dieses Rennen
Last Chance Ultra is a trail ultra held in early December near Springfield, Missouri, starting at 6176 S State Hwy VV in Rogersville. It offers runners a final race option for the year, with distances of 10 miles, 50K, 50 miles, 100K, and 100 miles. This is the fifth running of the series, organized by Heartland Racing Co. The event uses a central Base Camp as the start, finish, crew area, gear area, food spot, and main aid station.
The course consists of a 2-mile loop featuring maintained trail, gravel, and some pavement, bringing every runner back to Base Camp repeatedly. This design is crew-friendly, allowing runners to keep supplies nearby, crews ample space, and the single aid station provides real food and electrolytes to supplement a runner’s personal provisions. Camping, vans, and RVs are permitted on site, though without hookups or permanent restrooms, contributing to the race’s self-sufficient atmosphere. All distances have a 32-hour cutoff, lights are mandatory after dark, and Sunday’s 10-mile participants are encouraged to support the ultra runners who have been racing for over 24 hours. Finishers receive buckles and medals, reflecting the race’s format of repeated loops, late-season conditions, and a final effort before the year concludes.
