Paws Colinas 5k-9 Presented by Las Colinas Association

At Paws Colinas 5K-9, each runner may bring one dog. Dogs are sorted into small and large registration groups based on the 25-pound mark. This annual October 5K run/walk takes place in Las Colinas, Irving. It is presented by the Las Colinas Association and the Irving Marathon Running Series. The event is designed for dog-and-owner teams, but individuals can also participate without a dog. A virtual race option is available for remote participation. Dogs require current tags, proof of rabies vaccination, and a standard six-foot non-retractable leash. The course winds through the Las Colinas Urban Center and incorporates the shaded Campion Trail, offering a mixed neighborhood-and-trail experience rather than a road-only 5K. A recent running of the event attracted over 400 participants with their dogs. Following the race, activities continue the dog-centric theme with a pup-and-human costume contest, participant giveaways, dog treats from The Pet Treat Truck, a live DJ, and emcee Sybil Summers. Food and beverages are provided by Hospitality Alliance and Reservoir at Toyota Music Factory. Sponsor booths have previously featured a water station from HotWorx and pet insurance details from Goosehead Insurance. The Irving Marathon Running Series aims to promote year-round activity for local runners through various events.
