Über dieses Rennen
Perpetua Coast is a weekend of Oregon Coast trail races held in Yachats, starting at The Adobe Resort with courses within the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. The race distances range from a 10K to a 50K, including a 20-miler and half marathon, catering to first-time trail runners, faster short-distance runners, and those seeking a long day on coastal terrain.
The routes traverse beaches, rocky shoreline bluffs, headland viewpoints, and old growth rainforest. Cape Perpetua ascends about 800 feet above the Pacific, offering views that can extend along roughly 70 miles of shoreline and 35 miles offshore on clear days. The Sunday 10K utilizes a shuttle-assisted start and features runnable terrain, with swift transitions between forest and open coastline. The event acknowledges local history: Yachats originates from Ya’Xaik, linked to the Alsea people, who named Cape Perpetua Halaqaik, signifying an open place; they maintained its meadows through cultural burning for elk and deer hunting.
