The Rhoades McKee Reeds Lake Triathlon takes place at John Collins Park in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. The sprint triathlon wave begins at 8:00 a.m. on race morning. The main event is a short-course triathlon: a 750-meter swim, 20K bike, and 5K run. The event also offers athletes shorter or more focused racing options, including AquaBike, relay, swim-only, and duathlon formats.
The course is suitable for a wide range of local racers, from athletes under 19 to competitors in the 70-and-up age groups. Veteran triathlete Eric Abbott of Abbott Racing offers a course-tour video with practical tips, indicating that preparation is important even for the sprint distance. After finishing, participants receive refreshments at Gerken Plaza, with awards and the post-race gathering held at Wege Plaza. Classic Race Management manages race services.
