Über dieses Rennen
The Sam Costa Half Marathon and Quarter Marathon begins at 9:00 a.m. from Northview Church on Hazel Dell Parkway in Carmel, Indiana. Indy Runners and Walkers presents this event, offering both a half-marathon and a quarter-marathon, typically held in late winter to avoid the busy spring schedule.
The course winds through Carmel neighborhoods and onto less-traveled paths beside the White River. The race's origins date to the 1960s, with early central Indiana runners organizing the Central Indiana Striders Half Marathon on rural roads west of Marion County, before modern race amenities were common. Organizers consider it Indiana’s oldest race tradition, attracting participants from around the U.S. for over five decades. The event accommodates new runners, seasoned racers, age-group contenders, and division challengers, with refreshments and facilities provided at the church.
