Über dieses Rennen
The Sombrero Ultra Running Festival, SURF, is a multi-day ultrarunning event held in Middleburg, Florida, at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex. Rather than fixed distances, runners participate in timed races: 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours (with day and night options), 24 hours, 48 hours, or a 48-hour relay. This format accommodates participants seeking anything from a long training run to a full weekend of running, resting, eating, and resuming the race.
The course loops through the sports complex, returning to the start/finish aid station twice per loop. This allows crews to remain nearby and eliminates point-to-point logistics for runners. The race is cupless; participants must bring their own bottle, vest bladder, or collapsible cup. The single aid station offers standard ultra fare, electrolytes, pickle juice, water, and hot and cold meals, including breakfast and lunch items. A runner village provides space for tents, canopies, crews, and RVs, though RVs lack hookups. Footcare, physical therapy, and medical coverage are available for the longer races. Pacers are permitted in the 24-hour and 48-hour events after the initial 12 hours, provided they register with race staff.
