Über dieses Rennen
The Bull Mountain Epic is a trail race in Dahlonega, Georgia, featuring a 50K and a half marathon on the Jake and Bull Mountain trail system. The race is structured around three approximately 10-mile loops. Half marathon participants run one loop up and over Bull Mountain, including a short double-track section, while 50K runners complete all three loops. The 50K course involves approximately 5,000 feet of climbing, and the event has a 12-hour cutoff, requiring the third loop to begin by late afternoon.
The trails are predominantly runnable single track, demanding focus due to technical sections, rocky ascents, swift descents, waterfalls, and multiple stream crossings. Runners pass the main aid station and start/finish area after each loop, providing a valuable reset for the longer race without diminishing its challenge. Pacers are prohibited, and awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Aid stations offer vegetarian-friendly soups, fruit, hot food, and volunteer-prepared items, available until the last finisher.
