Über dieses Rennen
The Chatham Turkey Trot in Massachusetts is a 5K fun run or walk that begins at the Oyster Pond Parking Lot on Stage Harbor Road in Chatham. It takes place Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m. Registration opens in early September. Strollers are permitted, so the participants include walkers, families, and casual runners, as well as those using it as a holiday workout.
All proceeds from the Massachusetts trot benefit the Lower Cape Outreach Council. Participants may establish an individual fundraiser or form a team. A Chatham Turkey Trot also exists in New Jersey, featuring a 1 Mile Family Fun Run and a USATF-certified 5K. That event has raised close to $335,000 since 2009 for first responders, veterans, and diabetes research and education.
