The 6th annual Valley Bottom Rio Trio offers a family adventure-style triathlon race. It includes a trail bike ride, a paddle on the Rio Grande, and a run, all chip-timed. Participants can compete solo or in a 3-person relay. Participants may bring their own boat or rent a kayak or standup paddleboard. An outdoor awards ceremony and lunch follow the race. The event is part of the city's Riofest, which features live music and vendors. A kids' race is held at Blanca Vista Pond.
