Über dieses Rennen
Weekend at Burney uses a single 4.6-mile loop within Lassen National Forest. All participants, regardless of their chosen distance (48 hours, 24 hours, 12 hours, 13.8 miles, or 4.8 miles), will run this same circuit. This three-day event takes place in October near Burney, California, with the race located on Guest Ranch Road in Cassel. Intermountain Endurance organizes the race under a special use permit from Lassen National Forest.
The loop combines smooth single-track trails with forest roads, featuring rolling terrain, wooded sections, and a passage by Baum Lake on every lap. Each circuit involves approximately 370 feet of elevation gain and loss, making the timed races more about consistent pacing than a single large climb. The start/finish area serves as the primary aid station, offering snacks, soda, water, electrolytes, hot prepared meals, and a broth bar. Runners in the longer timed races have the option to use pacers after 12 hours or 50 miles, while their crews remain at the main staging area. All races are cupless, and Intermountain Endurance provides complimentary registration for Indigenous and Native American runners.
