The Endurance Trail starts from Kitzbühel at midnight, covering 81 km through the Kitzbühel Alps with 4,850 meters of elevation gain before finishing in Fieberbrunn. This event is part of KAT100 by UTMB, a trail running weekend based in Fieberbrunn within PillerseeTal, featuring races from the 8 km Easy Trail and 24 km Speed Trail up to the 51 km Marathon Trail and the 173 km ultra-trail. The Endurance Trail has a 21-hour time limit, positioning it as a mountain ultra rather than a long-day-hike.
The course begins with the Hahnenkamm, then crosses alpine meadows, high trails, and the Fieberbrunn Höhenweg before descending to the finish. Participants attend a briefing in Fieberbrunn and then take a shuttle to the midnight start in Kitzbühel, creating a point-to-point mountain crossing feel from the outset. KAT100 by UTMB attracts over 1,500 international runners annually and is Austria's longest ultra-trail run, with the Endurance Trail providing a more accessible entry into the same mountainous terrain.
