The Katrinberglauf is a steep mountain running race in Bad Ischl. The main race ascends from the Kaiser-Jagdstandbild (472m) to the Katrin cable car mountain station (1,415m). This individual race covers 4.4 kilometers and gains 943 meters of elevation, emphasizing climbing over flat-ground speed. An 11-person relay is also offered, with each runner tackling approximately 400 meters and 90 meters of elevation gain.
The course proceeds toward the Katrin cable car before ascending the steep ski slope to the upper station. This event is part of the Bad Ischler Sparkasse Katrin-Berglauf series, now in its 30th year. Awards will be presented at the Katrin-Berggasthof. As a special detail for this anniversary, the first 100 individual participants will receive a complimentary Katrin-Berglauf T-shirt.
