Saalbach Trail & Skyrace - Tag 2

The Saalbach Trail & Skyrace is a mid-August mountain running event in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria, centered on skyrunning: steep races on alpine trails with significant climbing over short distances. Day 2 focuses on the steeper, more vertical aspect of the event, featuring the 6 Summits Martini Skyrace (19 km, 2,100 m elevation gain), the 6 Summits Speed (16 km, 1,100 m gain), and the Vertical Extreme (3.3 km, 1,000 m climb). The event spans from the 9 km Soultrail for beginners to the 47 km 13 Summits Sky Marathon with 3,500 m of climbing, catering to both novice trail runners and seasoned skyrunners. A 6H Challenge provides a timed endurance option, and the 12 Summits Speed offers 44 km with 2,500 m of gain as an alternative to the most challenging initial ascent on the long course. Now in its twelfth edition, the race attracts skyrunners to the Saalbach mountains, where the objective is straightforward: ascend strongly, descend skillfully, and manage multiple summits.
