Welser Silvesterlauf

The Welser Sparkasse Silvesterlauf is a New Year’s Eve running event held in Wels, Upper Austria, featuring an afternoon program of races in the city center. It offers a sporty conclusion to the year, with distinct starts for the main races, a walking event, and a youth race, ensuring the day accommodates various distances and participant types. The primary route begins at Welser Stadtplatz and concludes at Minoritenplatz. Participants navigate a swift 5 km loop through Wels' inner city, completing it three times. This configuration allows runners to pass spectators multiple times, contrasting with a lengthy out-and-back course.
