The State Equestrian Centre trails at Bells Rapids provide a true bush-underfoot sensation from the outset of the Jolly Jumbuck Trail Run. The course meanders through native bushland, alongside billabongs, and on shared equestrian paths, featuring enough winter mud and leaves to aptly describe it as a "genuine Western Australian winter trail running experience." It accommodates novice trail runners, yet the longer distances present a challenge.
The primary challenge is the "challenging climb up Jumbuck Hill," succeeded by technical single track for participants in the Black and Blue courses. All runners will encounter the "iconic Bells Rapids bridge crossing," a notable run across the bridge offering views of the rapids below before proceeding to the finish. The course is marked with blue flagging tape and PTS arrows. A characteristic of the Perth Trail Series is the encouragement of drop-down options if a shorter distance is deemed more suitable.
