Audley serves as the starting point for this two-person adventure race through the "spectacular Royal National Park," combining trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, and map navigation. The Max Adventure Race: Sydney offers an authentic outdoor experience; participants navigate with a teammate through one of the world's oldest national parks, making decisions along the way rather than simply following markers.
The Classic course presents challenging terrain, featuring "steep climbs out of the valley," "exhilarating descents on purpose-built mountain bike tracks," and "kayaking on the scenic Hacking River" near the beginning and end. The Novice option is more accessible, yet it still incorporates the "iconic Honeymoon Steps climb," "flowing single track descents," and a shorter paddle, allowing beginners to experience the core elements of an adventure race without being overwhelmed.
