Grange Beach sets the tone: white sand on one side, sparkling Gulf St Vincent water on the other, and a line of runners and walkers settling into the sea breeze. White Coastal is part of the "original low cost, low key coastal fun running community event series," now in its fifth year under this name, with part proceeds supporting the push to "end cancer." It feels like a community morning rather than a big-production race, but there is still room to run hard.
The course starts from Grange Jetty Reserve and follows flat, fast coastal paths toward Henley Beach South before returning, using well-kept trails and beachfront promenades. It suits first-timers, recreational participants, casual walkers, and competitive runners chasing a clean rhythm on quick terrain. The quirk I like is the RUN WHITE theme: there is a trophy for the runner or walker who best represents it, which gives the morning a bit of local personality beyond the clock.
