Dampicourt Speed Race

The Dampicourt Speed Race is an autumn road event held at the ROX in Rouvroy, Wallonia, featuring 5 km and 10 km races designed for fast times. The 5 km is open to all participants, while the 10 km is for runners aged 12 and older. The 10 km is further divided into two starts: one for those targeting under 45 minutes, and another for those targeting 45 minutes or more. Both distances are certified by LBFA and World Athletics, offering chip timing and measured courses for runners seeking a dependable benchmark. The route begins at the ROX, proceeds towards Lamorteau via road, and returns to Rouvroy using the cycle path, maintaining a very flat profile throughout. AC Dampicourt organizes the race, with the same committee that manages the Dampicourt Speed Night. While the earlier event concentrated on track races, this one adapts the speed format for the road. A prize fund of €2000 is allocated to the top five men and women in both distances, attracting high-level competitors such as European half-marathon vice-champion Juliette Thomas. The event also caters to regular runners and families, providing on-site amenities including refreshments, food, childcare, and free parking.
