Feesteloop Avelgem

Feesteloop Avelgem is a traffic-free running event in Avelgem, West Flanders, held every two years. It runs concurrently with the Feesteworpstoet. Runners can participate in youth races of 500 metres and 1,000 metres, or in the 5 km, 10 km, or a team event where one runner completes 5 km and two teammates each run 2.5 km. The route passes through Avelgem's centre and incorporates lighting in the Schelde meersen, with music and entertainment provided along and around the course. NLT organizes the race, with the race office located in Foyer Spikkerelle. Past editions have attracted enough runners to strain the chip-timing system; one edition had 836 starters, for which fewer chips and numbers had been prepared.
