Ultra-Trail® Vitosha is a mountain trail race based in Sofia, Bulgaria, with its main event usually run in late June. The headline distance is the Vitosha 100 Km: a 98.6 km course with 2,460 metres of climbing, listed in the UTMB® Index and aimed at runners ready for a long day on natural terrain rather than a road race.
The route goes into Vitosha’s high ground above the city, with peaks, altitude, and enough climbing that poles, a reliable headlamp, water, and food-carrying gear are practical kit rather than extras. The event has drawn more than 300 runners in a past edition, and its slogan, “Vite à Vitosha!”, fits the straightforward appeal: get to the mountain, climb hard, and cover nearly 100 km outside Sofia.
