The Oak Ridges Moraine Adventure Relay begins in Gores Landing, Ontario. The full team relay starts on Rice Lake by canoe, then transitions to cycling and running. The full relay covers approximately 160 km, and the half relay covers about 90 km, using the initial part of the course but omitting the canoe segment. Teams can consist of up to 15 people for the full relay and up to 7 for the half relay. Participants can select either the Elite or Recreational divisions.
The course proceeds west across the Oak Ridges Moraine towards York Region. The day is divided into paddling, six cycling stages, and seven running or hiking stages. The cycling legs total around 95 km, utilizing a combination of trail, sand, gravel, and paved surfaces. The running and hiking legs span about 55 km over rolling trails. Aid stations offer water and snacks, but teams are responsible for their own provisions between these points. The relay also generates funds for the Oak Ridges Trail Association, contributing to trail upkeep and raising public awareness of the Moraine.
