Trot To The Beach - The Final Trot is a community race in Erieau, Ontario, marking its final edition after over 22 years. The event features a half marathon run, a half marathon walk, a 5K, and a Tiny Tot Trot, accommodating serious runners, walkers, families, and children on the same day. Approximately 226 participants are registered. The race also serves a fundraising role, having raised around CA$250,000 for local charities, families in need, and community programs throughout its history.
The half marathon follows a point-to-point route from Blenheim to Erieau, with distinct entries for runners and walkers covering the same course at varying speeds. The 5K utilizes buses to transport participants to the starting line, and shuttles provide return transport to the arena post-Tot Trot. Race director JP Huggins views the event as more than just a race; teams participate in honor of loved ones, first-time finishers range from children to adults, and the day has historically included costumes, beachside embraces, and a post-race dip in the lake.
