The Cider Run begins and ends at Slabtown Cider Co. in Uxbridge, Ontario. Runners will use private trails on Woodnewton Farms, located on the Oak Ridges Moraine. This is a trail-running event, not a road race, featuring a morning start in a cider-country setting. Options include kids’ races and a 40K looped run.
The route includes mixed forest, steep hills, and smoother rolling sections for recovery between climbs. The primary distances are the 8K Apple and the 16K Peck, which covers the course twice. The 40K Bushel involves five loops. Families can participate in a free 1K kids’ fun run or a timed 3.5K kids’ race. A 3.5K Sauce Hike is available for walkers. Green Newton Adventures organizes the event, emphasizing trail running, environmental education, sustainability, and conservation. The event also raises funds for causes such as Jumpstart and trail support at Woodnewton Farms. Slabtown Cider Co. will be open for food service after the race, connecting the finish area to the farm and cidery environment.
