The Wise Raven Trail Race utilizes a 2.5 km forest loop situated at Camp Heidelberg, the K-W Optimist Club property on Kressler Road in Waterloo, Ontario. Held in October, it provides 5 km, 10 km, 25 km, 50 km, 6-hour, and 6-hour relay race formats, with all participants completing the same short loop multiple times. The event is limited to 115 participants, is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, and uses electronic timing by Chiptime Results. Remaining funds after operational costs are donated to Run-Walk-Roll for WRHNCC, extending over ten years of financial support for this initiative. The loop begins with a quick, level section alongside the covered aid station, heading towards Camp Heidelberg pond. It then proceeds through mostly maintained trail featuring brief rocky and root-filled segments, along with some gentle inclines. Each circuit adds approximately 45 m of elevation gain, contributing to a consistent effort over longer distances rather than a single strenuous climb. Relay teams consist of 2 to 4 runners who exchange an ankle chip at the start/finish area, with each runner required to finish a complete lap before a substitution. The aid station offers practical, abundant snacks: soda, water, electrolytes, candy, chips, pickles, and occasionally PB&J sandwiches or pie. The race is cup-free, requiring runners to use their own bottles; pacers, pets, and alcohol are prohibited on the premises.

Guelph Victors is a running club for adults who can comfortably run 5 to 10 kilometres and seek coached training. Membership is on a calendar year basis, with a single fee covering workouts and events. Newcomers may attend one or two sessions before committing. The group trains one to three times weekly, with sessions designed and supervised by Victors coaches for all participants. The club also connects runners through free weekly group runs in Kitchener-Waterloo and club events like a 3 km time trial featuring wave starts. It attracts runners of various ages, speeds, backgrounds, and experience levels, united by their existing running habit and a desire to improve pace or distance. Winter indoor training at the University of Guelph Field House is included with membership.
