The Bernina Gletschermarathon is a 42.2 km trail marathon held in Pontresina, Switzerland’s Engadin valley. It features 2,600 m of elevation gain, reaching a high point of 3,003 m at Diavolezza. This event is part of the Bernina Ultraks series and is also known as the Bernina Glaciers Marathon. Participants can also opt for shorter Ultraks races of 30 km, 16 km, and 7 km, along with a Mini Ultraks for children.
The marathon course crosses the Bernina glacier region, passing Chamanna Boval, crossing the Morteratsch and Persgletscher, and ascending to Diavolezza. It then connects Fuorcla Pischa and Chamanna Segantini before concluding in Pontresina. The race awards 2 UTMB points and 2 ITRA points, indicating the challenge. Over 600 participants have competed across all distances, and the men's marathon record is under five hours. In Pontresina, the Ultraks Zone on the promenade serves as the event's central hub for runners, support crews, and spectators.
