RaceTafari is a trail race held in Saint-Cergue, a mountain station in Switzerland’s Canton of Vaud, within the Vaud Jura. Taking place in November, it features three timed distances: 13 km with 600 m of elevation gain, 23 km with 1,000 m, and 40 km with 1,600 m. The organizers refer to it as the “chillest trail of the year,” yet the distances indicate a genuine mountain challenge, particularly for the longer courses.
The course is a loop crossing forests and open viewpoints, ascending towards La Barillette and La Dôle, two notable peaks in the region. The 13 km route goes by La Barillette, descends towards Couvaloup, and circles back to Saint-Cergue. The 23 km and 40 km routes continue their climb to La Dôle by way of the Col de Porte. The 40 km race involves a sharp ascent to La Dôle, offering vistas over Lake Geneva and the Alps. Association LG Trail organizes the event, providing a meal for all participants at the finish line and a gathering afterward, emphasizing both the competition and the local trail running community.
