Excalibur Race KIDS II at Zámek Duchcov is a children’s obstacle race held at the state castle in Duchcov, situated below the Ore Mountains. This event is part of a larger OCR weekend that includes MOON, SKY, and HELL races, along with other kids’ categories and a DOG OCRC race for participants with dogs. The race center is located by the castle staircase, and the weekend is limited to 1,000 participants. Starts are staggered, with runners departing one at a time every 30 seconds, creating a continuous flow of participants rather than a single large start.
The routes traverse the meadows and paths surrounding the castle grounds, featuring certified obstacles and offering views of the Ore Mountains, the Czech Central Highlands, and the vicinity of the Bilina mine. KIDS II employs a straightforward wristband penalty system: each runner receives one white wristband, and failing to complete an obstacle incurs a two-minute penalty. The overall event also includes OCR RACE and OCR OPEN categories for various age groups, pairs, and teams. Younger KIDS I participants have the option to repeat obstacles or perform squats if they cannot finish one. The entry fee covers electronic timing, a finisher medal, refreshments, participant photos, and essential race amenities like changing rooms, showers, parking, catering, and a children’s fun zone.
