Kružberský tesák is a two-day, dog-friendly race weekend in and around Kružberk, designed for people who want to spend time outside with their dogs. Saturday is the racing day, featuring dogtrekking routes for experienced racers, intermediate participants, beginners, and competitive children. The main sporting option is a marathon, which can be run as part of a championship, but families can also opt for an easier walk around the dam. You can enter with a dog or without one, meaning the event is not limited to canicross or dog-sport specialists.
The course utilizes the Kružberk area and the ground around the reservoir, giving the event a countryside weekend atmosphere rather than that of a single road race. Sunday shifts from distance racing to Pejskiáda, a dog show open to small and large dogs, young and old dogs, purebreds, and mixed breeds. Dogs can compete for prizes by demonstrating tricks, wearing costumes, or working with children. The weekend also includes medals, food, sausage grilling, tent camping, a night game, and the awarding of the Kružberský tesák traveling trophy.
