Okolo Muňáku

Okolo Muňáku is a 10 km running race in Munice, near Hluboká nad Vltavou. The start is on the village green, with the route built around Munický rybník. The race now uses a certified course measuring exactly 10,000 meters, accepted by the Czech Athletics Association as an official 10K. It is a fast, flat race; an earlier 8 km version had only 35 meters of elevation gain. A 2 x 5 km relay is also available, catering to pairs as well as solo 10K runners. The route circles the pond area and uses the newer cycle path connection from Zliv to Munice, which enabled the measured 10K course. The start was shifted by 19 meters to ensure the correct distance. The event includes children's races, family activities, and an afternoon program for adults. #tymdejvid z.s. organizes the race, with David Vaš as race director. A charity aspect is central to the event: 50 CZK from each entry goes to Centrum Bazalka, and clients of the center participate. One edition raised 18,750 CZK from entry fees, plus an additional 30,455 CZK from waffle sales.
