The Witzenmann Opavská míle is a certified one-mile road race held annually in Opava, located in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. The event takes place each September, featuring a main race that begins in the early evening. The precise distance is 1.609 kilometers. A 5 km option is also available, catering to participants who prefer a longer distance than the standard mile.
The course begins on Olomoucká street near the Nemocnice bus stop. It proceeds from the vicinity of the Opava hospital towards the city center, concluding on Horní náměstí, also known as the Upper Square. The road is closed to vehicular traffic, facilitating a swift point-to-point urban run. Běh Opava is the organizing body, and the race welcomes participants of all age categories, from children to veteran runners. Horní náměstí functions as the central meeting point, offering basic refreshments and ancillary activities. The race is part of the local running calendar, alongside Opava’s established Christmas Run.
