The Eifelmarathon is a small race series based in Waxweiler, in Germany's Eifel region, offering distances from a 10k Fitness Run up to an Ultra. The main marathon is a solo race of approximately 26.2 miles, with the field capped at around 300 runners, distinguishing it from a large city marathon.
The marathon course is hilly, featuring about 872 meters of climbing and a similar amount of descent, making the day focused on managing the terrain rather than achieving a fast flat-road time. The course includes two aid stations and a 6 hour 45 minute time limit. The separate Trail route measures about 27 km with 800 meters of climbing and now offers ITRA points, providing mountain and trail runners with an additional incentive to participate.
