30. Limbacher Marktlauf

The Limbacher Marktlauf is a local running series held in Limbach-Oberfrohna, Germany. Race numbers are available for pickup at the Waldstadion on Friesenweg. The event takes place on a Saturday morning in late May, featuring a full schedule of club races. This includes school races over 1 km and 1.5 km, a 400 m Bambinilauf for children up to six years old, a 60 m daycare relay, a 5 km main race, 5 km for walking and Nordic walking, a 10 km race, and a 4 x 2.5 km relay. The event is in its 30th edition, signifying its established presence beyond a single town run. Younger children have their own races before the longer distances commence. The relay event accommodates men’s, women’s, and mixed teams, starting from youth age groups. Awards include certificates, medals, and trophies, with first-place finishers in several races receiving a trophy. The Marktlauf is also part of the Chemnitzer-Laufcup and the Westsachsen-Laufcup, attracting participants who follow the regional cup circuit, alongside families, walkers, school-age runners, and local teams.
