Bad Oeynhausen’s Nationaler Stadtlauf is a Friday-evening city run in May, with the main race listed at 9.6 km for adults and youth. The event is already in its 41st edition, starts at Rathaus 1, and uses a flat, officially measured course under DLV guidelines. The programme also includes competitions for children and school-age runners.
The main route is a four-lap loop through the spa-town centre, passing the station, City-Center, the Kurpark area, clinics and pensions, Bali-Therme, Jordansprudel, and the Mercure-Hotel before dropping back toward the finish. The lap has small rises and downhill sections rather than a single straight out-and-back, and race evening closes streets such as Ostkorso, Straße am Kurpark, Herforder Straße, Westkorso, and Morsbachallee for several hours.
