About
The Eifelmarathon begins in Waxweiler, a small town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, leading runners into the South Eifel's Prümtal valley. This series offers multiple distances: 10 km, a half marathon, a 26 km trail run, a marathon, and a 51.4 km ultramarathon, alongside Nordic walking and children’s races. The Prümtal has hosted this event since 1996, typically in early June.
The marathon and ultra start in Waxweiler. The half marathon begins at Schloss Hamm. The courses follow the Prüm river, crossing forests, natural trails, and sections of the South Eifel landscape. These areas feature monuments, a medieval fortification, and a reservoir close to Bitburg. The 26 km trail includes 760 meters of elevation gain, distinguishing it from a simple road race. Families are included with children’s and junior courses. Entry fees from the children’s relay are fully allocated to a children’s project.
